Dr. Heinrichs began her statements by arguing that the United States’ entry into the Iran War was driven by a broader goal to quell the rise of China as a global superpower. Her claim is that, due to Iran and China’s close foreign ties, the uranium being extracted within Iran is directly correlated to the increase in nuclear weapons being built in China. She argued, “How we [The US] move is going to influence things,” referring to disrupting the global balance of foreign relationships between Iran and China by entering the war.

Dr. Heinrichs continued in her support for intervention in Iran by focusing on the United States supporting its allies in the Middle East who feel threatened by the Iranian government. She primarily focused on Israel and emphasized her support for maintaining a strong diplomatic relationship. She also argued that maintaining this partnership would benefit the US economy, given the longstanding economic ties between the US and Israel.
